THE THOMPSONS

We can’t decide if our favorite part of the house is the extra 1,300 square feet we now have, the quiet neighborhood, family as neighbors or the refreshing neighborhood pool! One thing is for sure, the only thing we would change about our JHouston experience is that we would have built one sooner!

We had lived in Waxahachie for 9 years when we learned that our desired neighborhood was building a Phase Two. We walked through the JHouston Model home and fell in love! The spacious floor plan, the open concept rooms and attention to detail set the house apart from others we had visited. We began dreaming, praying, hoping and getting in contact with Melanie Brewer with JHouston Realty to see if we could make it work. We put our house on the market and began to get paperwork rolling.

We excitedly chose a four bedroom layout with an open concept kitchen, dining and living room. We were able to add the bonus room upstairs to the floor plan with a half bath to boot! Building began and we drove by the land in anticipation each day to see what was being built. Since we had purchased the house based off of a blueprint, we literally knew what the house would look like as we saw the walls constructed.

Building went smoothly with Stuart Walker at the reigns. Selling and building at the same time is quite an emotional roller coaster! There were a few bumps in the road, but the heart and passion Stuart possesses quickly took care of the few issues that arose. A year later we are still in contact with him and wave when he cruises through the neighborhood. Between Melanie and Stuart, we were kept up to date, in the loop and felt included in the building process.

After fourteen years of living in Texas without family, we truly felt like we had found our “forever home”. Our first summer in the house was filled with a lot of visitors, including Patti’s sister and family. During their family vacation here, she fell in love with the house, neighborhood and weather! Little did we know that after closing on our home in January 2013 that they would move from Michigan, purchase the lot next door and become our neighbors the same year in December 2013. What could make a JHouston home better? Sharing the lawn and knocking down part of the fence with your neighbor! Patti’s sister, brother-in-law and two nephews reside in an equally beautiful house – well, ours is better – right next door!
